Shelter in place near Lighthouse and Central in Pacific Grove lifted

PACIFIC GROVE, Calif. (KION)

UPDATE 9/9/2020 5:45 p.m. Police said a shelter in place order issued in Pacific Grove has been lifted.

The situation in the area has been resolved peacefully, according to police, and streets are reopening.

Police are still investigating, so they are still asking people to avoid the area.

PREVIOUS STORY: Pacific Grove police are asking residents in the area between Lighthouse Avenue, 12th Street, 9th Street and Central Avenue to shelter in place.

Because of police activity in the area, all streets are closed and members of the community are asked to avoid the area.
