HOUSTON (AP) — The start of the first civil trial stemming from the deadly crowd surge at the 2021 Astroworld festival in Texas has been delayed. Jury selection had been set to begin next Tuesday in the wrongful death lawsuit filed the family of 23-year-old Madison Dubiski. She was a Houston resident who was killed during the crowd crush at the concert by rap superstar Travis Scott. An appeal filed earlier this week by defendant Apple Inc. has automatically delayed the start of jury selection. The appeals court denied a request on Thursday to lift the stay. Scott and festival promoter Live Nation are also being sued.
