Rolling Stone hosting speaker series in Carmel

CARMEL, Calif. (KION) Rolling Stone and IMG announced a new speaker series at the Sunset Center in Carmel taking place over the next few months.
The series will feature Rolling Stone writers and editors who will address cultural topics through live storytelling and visual media. The topics include The Year in Music, Climate Change, The Year in Movies and Millennial Identity.
The Year in Music is expected to cover new voices breaking out this year, from Latin-pop to hip-hop. Climate change will be hosted by Rolling Stone's lead environmental writer, who will share what he learned during a two month excursion about how destabilization of ice could lead to catastrophic flooding. Movie critics will cover what Rolling Stone says are the most culturally significant films of 2019 during the Year in Movies session. Millenial Identity will feature writers who will reflect on what defines a millennial.
The events will be held on these dates:
- January 17- The Year in Music
- February 21- The Year in Movies
- April 17- Climate Change
- May 15- Millennial Identity
The events will all start at 8 p.m.
