Biden posts $7.8M in-person haul, planning bigger money push

POTOMAC, Md. (AP) — The Democratic National Committee says President Joe Biden raised $7.8 million during a string of recent, in-person fundraisers held in and around Washington, Chicago and the West Coast. The committee also says the president will increase such appearances to bolster his party’s campaign coffers ahead of midterm elections where its control of Congress is at stake. After largely skipping in-person events due to the coronavirus pandemic, the DNC said Biden plans to step up his fundraising schedule ahead of November, when Republicans are hoping that wins around the U.S. can put them back in control of Congress.
