Police chase that starts in Salinas ends with two arrested

Two people were arrested in Salinas today after leading police on a car chase.

It happened just after eleven this morning when police tried to stop 39-year-old Gilbert Ojeda. Ojeda then ran a stop sign and continued north toward Highway 101. Police then asked for help from CHP who set up spike strips to stop him. Ojeda was eventually arrested along with his passenger, 27-year-old Veronica Martinez who had violated her probation and had burglary tools. Police later discovered the car was stolen and Ojeda had warrants.
