Central Coast officer conduct traffic enforcement operation in Salinas

Salinas, Monterey & Marina Police alongside the California Highway Patrol, cracked down on unsafe drivers Thursday. In a special traffic enforcement operation throughout Salinas.

Enforcement started at 7 a.m. Thursday and continued until noon. Police gave out 118 tickets, towed 6 cars and arrested one person.

Its part of a program called STOPP — for strategic traffic operations and prevention program. It aims to promote driver safety on roads known for crashes.
