Timber Fire prompts new evacuation orders and warnings in Monterey County

The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office issued new evacuation warnings and orders for the Timber Fire on Sunday.

The Timber Fire began burning on Aug. 8 and has burned 9,665 acres. As of Sunday, it was 25% contained.

Evacuations for Timber Fire

According to Monterey County, the following zones are under a mandatory evacuation.

  • MRY-F028-B
  • MRY-F015-C
  • MRY-D082
  • MRY-D090
  • MRY-D089
  • MRY-D091
  • MRY-F031-A

The following zones are under a warning.

  • MRY-F015-B
  • MRY-D078
  • MRY-D084
  • MRY-D085
  • MRY-D086
  • MRY-D088
  • MRY-F031-B
  • MRY-F030-A
  • MRY-F030-B
  • MRY-F032-A
  • MRY-F032-B

The new evacuations were issued just after 1 p.m.
