Fremont police activity blocks streets in neighborhood near Interstate 880

Fremont police officers and emergency responders converged in a Fremont neighborhood on Friday afternoon.

The incident began at about as of 1:15 p.m. along San Pedro Drive between Nicolet Avenue and Frobisher Drive adjacent to Interstate Highway 880 in Fremont’s Cabrillo neighborhood. Multiple police and fire department vehicles along an ambulance were positioned in front of a home on San Pedro Drive at Baffin Avenue as officers were coming in and out of the home. 

The Fremont Department said the San Pedro Drive was blocked in the area for an active investigation and urged people to avoid the area. Police added that there is no immediate threat to the community at this time. 

A neighbor said he heard what sounded like a gunshot and saw someone running, but police have not confirmed if any shots were fired.
