Student stabbed at Oakland’s Castlemont High School during fight

A student at Castlemont High School in Oakland was stabbed during a fight with other students outside the campus, police said.
The incident happened shortly after 10:15 a.m. in the vicinity of the school, according to the Oakland Police Department. Officers arrived to find a juvenile who had been injured during an assault, and medics took the victim to a hospital, where the person was listed in stable condition.
Police said the preliminary investigation indicated that the juvenile was injured by a bladed object during a fight with other juveniles. Multiple juveniles were detained after the incident and seen in the back of police vehicles.
There was no immediate word of any charges against those detained.
Police asked anyone with information was asked to contact the department’s felony assault unit at 510-238-3426. Those with videos or photos that could help investigators were directed to send them to cidvideos@oaklandca.gov.
