A look at the USS Hornet's Apollo 11 recovery mission exhibit

On July 24, 1969, the ship was waiting for splashdown in the Pacific southwest of Hawaii when suddenly they were told that there was a thunderstorm heading their way.  The Air Force discreetly ordered the ship to move about 240 miles, but because our satellites were then top secret, they couldn’t tell them how they knew about the storm.
