Teen found fatally shot in San Jose business parking lot

A teen died on Sunday after being shot in a San Jose parking lot, police said.

The shooting happened around 4:48 p.m. in the 1500 block of Winchester Boulevard. When police arrived at the scene, they found a 17-year-old boy who had been shot at least once. 

Police said he was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. 

An investigation into the shooting is underway. According to police, it’s the city’s first homicide of 2026.
