Oakland man found fatally shot near Lake Merritt

A victim of a deadly shooting was found near Lake Merritt on Saturday morning, Oakland police said on Sunday.
Police were called around 7:15 a.m. to the 300 block of Grand Avenue for a report of a person lying on the ground.
When officers arrived, they identified the person as an Oakland man who had been shot. First responders declared the man dead at the scene.
Police said homicide detectives are investigating the shooting.
