Preliminary magnitude 2.9 earthquake hits near Corralitos in Santa Cruz County

A preliminary magnitude 2.9 earthquake struck near Corralitos, a community in Santa Cruz County, on Sunday, the United States Geological Survey said.

The quake had a depth of about 8 miles and struck around 1:15 p.m.

People in Aptos, Santa Cruz, Soquel and Capitola reported feeling weak shaking, according to Did You Feel It responses.
