Livermore police say several people were seriously injured in a 3-car crash

Livermore police said several people were seriously injured in a crash on Tuesday. 

The crash happened around 4:15 p.m. at the intersection of Portola Avenue and Tranquility Circle. Police said multiple people in the area told officers three cars were involved in the crash. 

The three drivers involved in the crash and one passenger were taken to the hospital. Police did not specify who but said three of four had serious injuries and one person had minor injuries. 

An investigation into the cause of the crash is underway.
