A preliminary magnitude 2.9 earthquake struck in San Ramon on Saturday, according to the United States Geological Survey.
The quake happened at about 1:44 p.m., and it hit near Canyon Side Avenue and Canyon Green Drive, with a depth of almost 5 miles.
