Clouds & Light Rain Expected

OVERVIEW: A cooling trend is the forecast for the remainder of the week as troughing develops off of the West Coast and the ridge of high pressure shifts east. Thus, expecting the marine layer to deepen resulting in more widespread low clouds and fog developing each evening and spreading inland into the morning hours. Temperatures will be int the upper 60's to middle 70's along the coast and 80's to low 90's inland. The Climate Prediction Center has near to cooler than normal temperatures and above average precipitation. Note: Above average precipitation this time of year does not amount to much and may be in the form of coastal drizzle and/or light rain. Thus, widespread rainfall is not expected.

Today: Coastal areas will be warm in the upper 70's to 80's, while inland valleys will be hot in the 80's to low 100's. Winds may become breezy in the late afternoon, with typical breezy conditions through mountain passes and valleys. A 15-20% chance of showers and thunderstorms through the early afternoon along the interior eastern portions of Contra Costa, Alameda, Santa Clara, San Benito, and Monterey counties.

 Tonight: Temperatures cool to mid 50's overnight with low clouds redeveloping. Winds will be light overall.
