SALINAS, Calif. (KION) – SALINAS, Calif. (KION) – A weak low pressure system aloft will linger over the region through early next week, keeping the marine layer in place along the coast. Temperatures will rise again by Friday before cooling down this weekend.

This Morning: Expect a thick marine layer with many coastal clouds and drizzle during the late night and morning hours, especially around the coast and near coastal cities. Temperatures will rise with warmer afternoons inland.
This Evening: Low clouds will begin to redevelop along the coast and may drift inland overnight. Temperatures will cool into the 50s and 60s. Skies will remain mostly cloudy near the coast, while inland areas may see partial clearing before clouds return later tonight. Gusty winds will develop on the coast and in the inland valleys.
Extended: Looking ahead to the extended forecast Strong winds coming from the North-West will arrive on Thursday and spread inland on Friday. Temperatures will rise again by Friday then cool down over the weekend. Breezy afternoon winds will continue, particularly through wind-prone areas like the Salinas Valley.
