New MCSO Enforcement Operations Bureau Chief Deputy sworn in
MONTEREY, Calif. (KION) - An informal sworn-in ceremony has welcomed new Enforcement Operations Bureau Chief Eric Bixler to the Monterey County Sheriff's Office.
“Chief Bixler contributes extensive experience and is a significant asset to the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office. You will often see Chief Bixler out in the field supporting our team of deputies and being actively involved with the community," said MCSO Sheriff Tina M Nieto.

Before being sworn in as a Chief Deputy, Bixler was an officer in charge of the Federal Bureau of Investigation's Transnational Organized Crimes Task Force and Metropolitan Task Force, Homeland Security Investigations, and with the U.S. Marshals Apprehension Task Force and Foreign Presecution Liaison Unit, Interpol.
“I’ve always believed in enjoying the work you do for the community. I look forward to coming to work every day. I am also excited to bring my K9 partner Zuko to the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office," Chief Deputy Bixler said.
Chief Deputy Bixler has previously served as part of the Los Angeles Police Department, starting in 1996. Before that, Bixler served as a member of the U.S. Army and as an Emergency Medical Technician.
