Fireworks facility explodes in Esparto, Yolo County Tuesday

YOLO COUNTY, Calif. (KION-TV) -- There is currently an investigation into an explosion at a fireworks facility out of Yolo County Tuesday evening.

According to the Winters Police Department, the explosion happened near Esparto and several streets in that community have been shut down as a result.

Solano County's Office of Emergency Services confirmed that the building was a fireworks facility, according to CBS Sacramento, near county roads 21A and 86.

Cal Fire LNU said it also sent a crew into the area to assist with the fire.

The smoke plume from the explosion reached between 10,000 and 15, 000 feet, according to CBS Sacramento.

They also said that it is currently unclear if anyone was injured.
