Big Sur Fire crews ready to assist locals as fire season arrives

Big Sur Fire

BIG SUR, Calif. (KION) - Big Sur Fire says its hand crew has been busy training and preparing for upcoming community project work.

Over the past month, they helped with controlled burns at Fort Hunter Liggett and Camp Roberts.

Starting this Sunday, June 1, people living in Big Sur will be able to ask the hand crew to visit their properties to help improve defensible space and other emergency preparations.

Those looking to request the hand crews can do so at their website, bigsurfire.org, reaching them via email at info@bigsurfire.org or calling them at 831-667-2113.
