Seasonable Holiday

SALINAS, Calif. (KION) – A (dry) trough will pass by into today and tomorrow which will cool inland areas and keep coastal areas seasonable. Winds may be occasionally gusty as well. High pressure will build back in behind it, but the warm-up will be slow.

Air Quality: Good

Monday (Memorial Day): Low clouds early, then partly cloudy. Coastal highs in the 60s to low 70s—warmest on the north side of the bay—and cooler inland with mid-60s to around 80ºF expected. Gusty west-northwesterly onshore and up-valley winds late in the day.

Tuesday: Periods of low clouds on the coast, otherwise mostly sunny. Slightly warmer with coastal highs in the 60s to low 70s and 70s to low 80s inland. Breezy on the coast, windy up valleys.

Extended: Temperatures should remain fairly seasonable through mid-week as the upper level forces battle it out. High pressure will win out into to the weekend, however, sending temperatures upward—especially away from the coast.

This week's normal temperatures:
--COASTAL CITIES--
LOW: 50ºF
HIGH: 66ºF
--INLAND CITIES--
LOW: 47ºF
HIGH: 76ºF
