First-ever Volkswagen meetup bring brief street closures to Capitola

CAPITOLA, Calif. (KION) - A traffic alert for anyone in Capitola this Saturday, as some roads in the village will be closed for the first-ever V-Dubs car meet.

According to Capitola Police, the meetup may see approximately 200 Volkswagen vehicles come together.

Between the hours of 7 a.m. and 9:30 a.m., the following closures will be in place:

• Capitola Avenue between Stockton Avenue and Monterey Avenue
• Monterey Avenue at Fanmar Way
• Monterey Avenue at Park Place

All closures will be actively monitored, and only authorized vehicles will be allowed. 

Police say the village should fully reopen to vehicles by about 4 p.m.
