105 year old WWII veteran, David Perez, dead

MONTEREY COUNTY, Calif. (KION) -- David Perez, one of the few World War II veterans left, has died at the age of 105 on Wednesday. 

Perez served as the grand marshal of the Monterey County Veterans Day parade

Perez served as a combat medic in World War II, earning a Bronze Star for saving lives.

A young David Perez served in WWII as a combat medic and was one of the last WWII veterans left.

He was one of five brothers who served.

After the war, he built a life in Salinas as a business owner, community leader, and proud family man, leaving behind a legacy.
