Man arrested, woman injured after crash on Highway 1

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. (KION-TV) -- One person was arrested for reckless driving after a crash near Mar Monte Avenue on Highway 1 Sunday evening.

According to California Highway Patrol, a 21-year-old man driving a gray Lexus collided with a 70-year-old woman from Watsonville driving her silver Ford Fusion.

When hit, the Ford Fusion rolled over and landed between the right lane highway and the Mar Monte Avenue on-ramp.

The woman sustained major injuries and was airlifted to a hospital nearby.

The man had only sustained minor injuries and was arrested for felony reckless driving.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
