SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, Calif. (KION-TV) -- Construction is beginning on a new facility for Santa Cruz County's Behavioral Health Bridge Housing program.

The new 32-bed center will offer temporary housing and supportive services for those facing homelessness and behavioral health issues on 2202 Soquel Avenue.

Housing Matters is managing and operating the facility which will be one of three new centers in Santa Cruz County.

“This facility will serve as a critical resource for some of the most vulnerable members of
our community, offering stability, care, and a path to permanent housing,” Santa Cruz County Director of Health Services Mónica Morales said.
