New hospitality cadre program launching this summer in Monterey County

MONTEREY COUNTY, Calif. (KION-TV) -- A new hospitality cadre program is making its way to Monterey County for those interested in that career path.

Hospitality Cadre Monterey County is an internship program focused on working with local hotels and restaurants to host those interested in applying.

People between 18 and 24 can apply to the program and must be available to work 36 hours per week.

Applicants will receive training for their roles and be paid the equivalent of $35 per day via a stipend.

The program will run from May 5 to June 20 with applications being accepted until April 9.

After completing the program, interns will have earned either a ServSafe Food Handlers Certification, an OSHA 10: General Industry Certification, or a Certified Guest Service Professional by the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute.

As for local hotels and restaurants, they apply to host an intern for their selves on the Monterey County Works website.
