‘Tiny Village’ project to appeal at Watsonville City Council meeting

WATSONVILLE, Calif. (KION-TV) -- A low-barrier navigation center appeal will help determine the fate of the Recurso de Fuerza Tiny Homes Project.

70 people living in encampments along the Pajaro River will be relocated to a 34-unit housing first navigation center on 118 1st Street in Watsonville.

The property, owned by the Westview Presbyterian Church, is located within the Downtown Core zoning district.

An appeal for the project was denied at a Planning Commission meeting in December 2024 stating the city zoning staff did not make any errors.

A motion to appeal the denial of the original appeal is being presented to the Watsonville City Council during their meeting on March 11.
