New photo released of Greenfield shooting suspect

GREENFIELD, Calif. (KION-TV) -- A new photo has been released of a suspect in a shooting that left two people with non-life-threatening wounds in Greenfield.

The photo released by the Monterey County Sheriff's Office shows 33-year-old Ramon Valdes Carrasco riding a bike in Greenfield with sightings of Carrasco reported.

Carrasco is wanted in a shooting that happened on Sunday, February 9, with two victims located in the agricultural fields on Elm Avenue.

One victim was found south of Elm Avenue and 3rd Street and another near Elm Avenue and 4th Street.

MCSO states there has been a delay in receiving information on Carassco's whereabouts, but MCSO said that those who spot him should call 911 immediately.

Suspect identified in shooting of two victims in Greenfield

Monterey County Sheriff's Office has identified the suspect as 33-year-old Ramon Carrasco is 5 feet, 6 inches tall, 150 pounds with black hair, green eyes, and facial hair.

Carrasco was last seen wearing dark clothing and walking north of Greenfield.

Two victims were shot in the agricultural fields south of Elm Avenue. One victim was found at a homeless encampment on 4th Street and Elm at 11:30 a.m. and another was found later on 3rd Street and Elm.

The sheriff's office says he was walking through the north side of Greenfield.

Both victims were transported to a trauma center for treatment of their injuries and expected to survive.

It is believed that Carrasco is unhoused and frequents Greenfield.

Carrasco is considered armed and dangerous with anyone who sees him urged to call 911 immediately.

Greenfield Police confirm officers are at the scene of a shooting along a portion of Elm Avenue on Sunday afternoon.

Police say they're still trying to piece together what happened, but say two shooting victims were found near a homeless encampment.

The Monterey County Sheriff's Office confirmed the information, adding a third person was threatened with a firearm at the scene.

Police say the shooting victims are expected to survive.
