Bike, equestrian trails closed in Monterey County Parks due to weather

MONTEREY COUNTY, Calif. (KION) -- All bike and equestrian trails in Monterey County Parks will be closed until Sunday due to weather conditions.

This also includes the trails at Fort Ord.

While the parks will remain open for regular use, these trails will be closed as wind gusts up to 35 miles per hour are predicted for the areas.

The closures are a precautionary measure as weather impacts County parks due to the potential for landslides, rock slides and downed trees.

The trails are expected to reopen on February 9.
