SANTA CRUZ, Calif. (KION) -- Cal/OSHA will be investigating the partial collapse of the Santa Cruz Wharf from Dec. 23.

Department of Industrial Relations Denisse Gomez confirmed to KION that the Division of Occupational Health and Safety is looking into the matter. Three workers were left out to sea before being rescued after the end of Wharf collapsed due to high surf.

While they confirmed an investigation is happening, no other detail could be provided at the time. The collapse lead to the loss of The Dolphin Restaurant and public restrooms. The Santa Cruz Municipal Wharf has since been reopened as of Jan. 4.
