Former professional wrestler William “Billy Jack” Haynes in custody in wife’s death in Oregon

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Authorities say William Albert Haynes Jr. has been taken into police custody in connection with the death of his wife in Portland, Oregon. Haynes is a former professional wrestler who performed as Billy Jack Haynes. Portland police over the weekend said Haynes was in police custody at a local hospital, undergoing medical treatment for a condition unrelated to the incident. Police say charges will be announced when Haynes is booked into jail. A police spokesperson on Monday did not answer questions about the case. It was not known whether Haynes had a lawyer who could speak on his behalf.
