WASHINGTON (AP) — The Pentagon says Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin has canceled his trip to Brussels to meet with NATO ministers and work on Ukraine military aid as he remains hospitalized. Austin is dealing with further health issues following prostate cancer surgery in December. He was taken to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center on Sunday where he underwent nonsurgical procedures under general anesthesia. His doctors say they “anticipate a successful recovery” and his “cancer prognosis remains excellent.” This is Austin’s second hospitalization this year. He transferred his authorities to Deputy Defense Secretary Kathleen Hicks on Sunday.
