Two arrested for stealing a tractor in Royal Oaks

ROYAL OAKS, Calif. (KION) -- Two people have been arrested for stealing a tractor on Easter Sunday in Royal Oaks.

According to the Monterey County Sheriff's Office, a report came in over a stolen tractor from a home on Live Oak Road in Royal Oaks, with the reporter saying the tractor had a tracking device on it.

It was not until the next day, April 21, that deputies used a search warrant to find the stolen tractor. MCSO deputies found the tractor in the middle of getting a fresh coat of paint.

Rene Alvarez Landa, 60, and Jose Olegario Gonzalez, 44, were arrested for possession. It was then found that Landa was a convicted felon for possessing ammunition and methamphetamine.
