Salinas police warning drivers to slow down after speed-related crash
Salinas police are warning drivers to slow down after a crash they said was speed-related.
The crash happened on Constitution Boulevard near Freedom Parkway on Sunday. At around 12:48 p.m., police said the driver of a 1998 BMW was driving northbound coming up on Freedom Parkway at a high rate of speed when a vehicle made a right turn in front of the BMW.
Police said the driver of the BMW tried to switch lanes and lost control. They said the car hit the curb, went airborne and rolled before crashing into a wall. A 19-year-old passenger in the car is in critical condition with severe head trauma at Natividad Medical Center.
