Alvarado Street Brewery brews up first-ever Oktoberfest on Sept. 20
MONTEREY, Calif. (KION-TV) - Alvarado Street Brewery is ready to bring a taste of Bavaria to the streets of Monterey with their first-ever Oktoberfest, all to benefit a local cause.
As announced on their socials, Alvarado Street Brewery is hosting the event at the Colton Hall Lawn to benefit the Monterey Firefighters Community Foundation.
The Monterey County-based brewery is welcoming more than 30 guest lager taps from 20 lager bier makers in the county and six German-inspired brews lined up for the day.
Some guest brewers of note include other Central Coast favorites from Paso Robles-based Firestone Walker Brewing Company, Watsonville-based Fruition Brewing, Seaside-based Other Brother Beer, and Pacific Grove-based Hops and Fog Brewing Company.
To go alongside with the beer, guests can fill up on freshly-grilled brats and handmade pretzels from The Meatery.
Competitions such as the Masskrugstemmen aka stein-holding, sack races, and tug-of-war will allow guests to cheer or even get in on the action for themselves.
Local craft and goods makers will also set up shop for those looking to walk away from the event with a gift to take home with them.
Tickets are available on the Alvarado Brewing Company website via Eventbrite.
