San Benito Sheriff’s Office, Probation Department announce new medical services

SAN BENITO COUNTY, Calif. (KION-TV) - The San Benito County Sheriff and Probation Department Chief announced a healthcare partner today for the county's jail and youth services center.

The new deal is with MediKO to provide medical, mental health, and dental services to the county's correctional facilities.

The sheriff's office says that MediKO will provide 24/7 nursing care and on-call physician services.

Medication for opiate use disorder to treat addicts in custody, and could save the county thousands of tax dollars by managing medical claims.

The sheriff calls the partnership a customized, cost-effective solution that aligns with the county's goals and principles.
