Evacuation warning issued for parts of Moss Landing, Monterey Harbor

MOSS LANDING, Calif. (KION-TV) - An evacuation warning had been issued for the Moss Landing area and the Monterey Harbor District area.

According to the Monterey County Sheriff's Office, all persons living aboard vessels such as boats or yachts have been told to evacuate and seek lodging elsewhere.

These evacuation zones are MRY-B040, MRY-B050, MNT-A032-B, and MNT-A026-B.

The reason is that tsunami waves are expected to reach the Monterey County coastline at 12:15 a.m. on Wednesday.

Other residents and visitors are advised to remain out of the water and away from beaches and harbors until local officials deem it safe to return.
