Community Human Services CEO set to retire in 2026

MONTEREY, Calif. (KION-TV) - Community Human Services CEO Robin McCrae has announced their retirement from the position after 34 years working with the organization.

McCrae first joined CHS in 1992 and was appointed as CEO two years later in 1994. She is set to retire in March 2026.

“Serving my community has been the honor of a lifetime. I’ve been privileged to work alongside many dedicated colleagues, clients, and community partners. I know the agency will continue to thrive in its mission of service and hope," said McCrae.

Highlights of McCrae's career include creating youth-focused transitional housing and navigation centers for runaway and homeless youth, and substance use and mental health treatment programs for both youth and adults.

Other key highlights also include building community partnerships, such as merging with the Family Service Agency of Monterey County, and allowing more access to crisis intervention programs focused on child abuse and domestic violence.

A transition team has been created to find a successor within the next nine months.
