Man arrested in Watsonville crash involving a school bus

WATSONVILLE, Calif. (KION-TV) -- A Watsonville man was arrested after hitting six cars, including a school bus, in two separate crashes.

According to CHP Santa Cruz, the man was driving a gray Honda when he crashed into a school bus on Green Valley Road near Minto Road around 7:53 a.m.

The gray Honda had collided with six cars across two different crashes.

While all six people in the school bus were uninjured, two of the other drivers hit sustained minor injuries.

As the suspect attempted to leave the crash site, other drivers stopped him until a Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Deputy arrived.

The driver will now face felony hit-and-run charges while being sent to a mental facility for support.

The crashes are still under investigation.
