New Moss Landing fire relief fund created in partnership with Vistra

MONTEREY COUNTY, Calif. (KION-TV) -- The Community Foundation for Monterey County (CFMC) is partnering with Vistra Energy to create a new fire relief fund for households impacted by the Vistra Energy fire.

Vistra is contributing more than $450,000 to establish the Moss Landing Power Plant fire. Evacuees were told to leave their homes in neighboring areas due to the impacts of the fire before being able to return to their homes 24 hours later.

Each address within the evacuation zone is eligible for one $750 gift card from the CFMC in conjunction with United Way and Castro Plaza Family Resource Center. Residents can register online for the gift card.

Those wishing to apply in person can do so between 1 to 8 p.m. on February 1 at Castro Plaza Family Resource Center and from 2 to 6 p.m. on February 3 at the Moss Landing Harbor District Office.
