Man found dead after late night shooting in Soledad leading to homicide investigation

SOLEDAD, Calif. (KION) -- A man was found dead after a shooting in Soledad on Thursday.

According to the Soledad Police Department, reports of a shooting came in around 9:25 p.m. near the 1700 block of Vosti Avenue.

When officers arrived, they found the victim, Francisco Ochoa, 42, lying in the road with multiple wounds.

Ochoa was pronounced dead at the scene after attempts to resuscitate him.

Soledad Police are investigating Ochoa's death as a homicide. Those with information are asked to call Detective Vargas at 831-223-5125, and those fishing to remain anonymous are encouraged to call 1-800-782-7463.
