Pivotal showcases their flying car in Santa Cruz ahead of Electrify Expo
SANTA CRUZ, Calif. (KION) - The future of travel is taking off on the Central Coast with a flying car.
A team of pioneering pilots at Pivotal is flying across the country, making a stop in Santa Cruz today, showcasing their black-fly flying car.
It only weighs 348 pounds, has a single seat, and those looking to take it to the skies don't need a pilot's license to fly it.
People watching the demonstration were thrilled to see the innovation for themselves.
"It was exciting to watch when it first lifted up, you know how you're used to seeing planes have to rev up, and it just lifted up like it was hovering up fast. And it's very windy over from the ocean here and it seemed like it was under control," said spectator Kathy Dobash.
The flying car will be at the Electrify Expo in Alameda this weekend, joining the lineup as the first electric aircraft ever to be featured.
