Annual Ducky Derby flocks to Santa Cruz on April 26

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. (KION-TV) -- On your mark, get set and go as a fan favorite derby quacks its way to the Central Coast this month.

Omega Nu of Santa Cruz's annual Ducky Derby and Carnival returns on Saturday, April 26 from 10-30 a.m. to 3-30 p.m. at Harvey West Friendship Gardens in Santa Cruz, rain or shine.

Those interested can adopt a rubber duck for a shot at over 100 prizes.

Twelve races will be held that day.

If one of the ducks participants adopted is in the first batch of racers, they will win.

Proceeds will benefit Omega Nu Scholarships and Santa Cruz County Youth.

The scholarships were open to students from Santa Cruz County high school seniors and Cabrillo College Graduates who plan to transfer to a UC of CSU in the fall.

While applications have closed for the year, students who will be seniors can apply for next year's round beginning January of 2026.
