Really wet weather along the Peninsula again Thursday

MONTEREY COUNTY, Calif. (KION-TV) -- Rainy weather continued to pass through the Central Coast with the Monterey Peninsula seeing a fair amount of rain Thursday.

Despite the weather, people still came out to enjoy the coastline as the fast-moving system moved through.

One person visiting from New York, Lauren Goldstein, said that these conditions don't compare to the chillier temperatures in New York where locals see a high of 30s most days.

The only setback for Goldstein is that this weather has affected her trip to Big Sur.

Goldstien didn't want to take a chance visiting the area because of the slip-out caused by heavy rains last year on Highway 1.

"Originally, we were gonna go to Big Sur, but we decided not to. So we made today our Monterey Day," Goldstein said. "We figured with the rain, we would go to the aquarium. But it wasn't raining as badly as we expected by the time we got here. So we decided to walk around the area and try and find sea lions instead."

While the rainfall was not as drastic as Tuesday, it is wise to prepare for the cold weather outside.
